Hanging On the Edge of Hope “Springs” Eternal

Friday, April 20th, 2018, Portland, Maine

Temperatures in the a.m. 39 degrees (feels like 32)

Birds chirping and dive-bombing the scattered birdseed on the cold ground

Tree buds sprouting at the end of naked, ugly, brown branches

Household American flags whipping in the wind

Zero snowflakes on the ground….today

Sun on the face while sitting at the breakfast table

Enjoying a cup of New England blueberry cobbler flavored coffee and Maine blueberry jam on toast

Thoughts, memories and hopes of the upcoming warmth, short-sleeved shirts, shorts, clam festivals, days at the beach, retired winter gear and happy faces everywhere

Hanging on the edge of hope “Springs” eternal
